vRS left factory

Featured Replies

Ordered 24th April and got call today to say that car has been built and left factory.  So looking like second week in July for collection  :D

Wow, I ordered mine in January and have just been told that mine has been built and should be at my dealership at the about the same time as yours. How did you manage to get your waiting time down by so much???

Mine is 'in transit' too but I ordered in November!

I don't get the inconsistency of delivery times. It's bizarre.

Chances are it doesn't have many options or the dealer had one already in the system the could change

Nothing to do with no options, nor cancelled orders. I  had no extras except sunset glass and on collection day dealer said at least a dozen others they had orders for had cancelled. Her my wait was the usual 5.5 months.  That's the **** thing with Skoda, the random wait.

My point was that the dealer may have had a car already on the system. Certain options do delay build times as does if it's an estate or hatch as well as engine choice. I think some dealers give out delivery dates even though there is no hope in getting them in that time frame. When I ordered my MK3 vRS estate I was told around 20-25 weeks with my current vRS I was told it would be around 12-14 weeks but as my dealer had a car already in the skoda system they could change it to my spec and I got it in around 10 weeks.

Just had a mail from the dealer - mine is also built and on the way... it's going to be a very long summer waiting for 1st September to roll around (and that's got to be a first on here - someone complaining that their spanky new vRS is turning up too early!)

The Viking Constanza is returning from Sheerness to Emden, docking tonight. I'm hoping my VRS is waiting to be loaded. If so it should be in Sheerness for Monday morning.

Of course it may still be sitting in the factory car park!

Mine is built and at Emden too apparently. Also inline for a mid July delivery. Ordered late December.

I picked mine up last Thursday, vRS TSI Estate and it was worth the wait. Ordered January and it did seem at times to be a dream. But f**k me it can shift. That Soundaktor thingy is rather neat, makes it growl. Like I said, well worth the wait.

No sailings to Sheerness this weekend, the Viking went to Grimsby. Currently 3 car carriers in Emden but no destinations showing.

Do you need to time it in to a lease car going etc? If not, personally I can't see the point about waiting for a new reg. nobody cares anymore, and as for resale if keeping it for two or more years, people only car what year it is for valuation. Condition, spec and mileage are for more important by then.

If it was me, and didn't have any dependencies, I would have it now and enjoy it over the summer.

Cheers

Steve

Unfortunately, yes - I have a company car which goes back at the start of October, and given I was quoted the usual 6 months for delivery, I ordered at the end of March.  The company car is a salary sacrifice scheme, so I can't afford both cars for an extended period of time, otherwise I would be picking it up as soon as possible...

My VRS has landed at Sheerness this morning. So my dealer just needs to get the car delivered and PDI done by next Tuesday! Then I can drive it to France.
