TP / TMC / RNS315 / Amundsen+

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Whilst sitting in the traffic on the M25 this morning (closed between 2 and 3) I noticed that she who lives in the dashboard has been very quiet over the last few weeks. Navigation is fine, just no "Traffic problems ahead" when in "free drive". As far as I understand, TMC is received via RDS - which is working fine. If I switch on TP, nothing happens - no interruptions from the radio to tell me I'm sitting in a traffic jam.

I changed the aerial over a couple of weeks ago to a shark fin, as someone hadn't removed the original when putting it through a car-wash.However, all the signal diagnostics check out ok. :S :S

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Right, a quick fiddle later (I was bored at the office)..........

Seems to be tied in to my attempts at the "Big Speed Reading" on MaxiDot a while ago. (Instruments country set to Australia etc) This didn't work as it's a FL thing not  Pre-FL. However, what is a little strange is this whole BAP/Non-BAP thing. Parts of the Non-BAP protocol are still seen by the head unit (reverse engaged, date/time). So, having set the country back to GB, leaving the unit switched on for a couple of minutes yielded a list of traffic incidents. :) :)

Not sure how this would affect FL/RNS315/Big Speedo.

After a brief flurry of reports, I'm back to none. Kinda hoping that's just no reports as opposed to the original issue.

Nope no improvement :(

Watching the live FM signal diagnostics, the RDS number is jumping around all over the place, so my earlier comment about it being fine may be premature. Does anyone know which way round the numbers run? (i.e. 1-100 where 100 is best) The TP system kept switching between TP and No TP too.
