Hello eveybody! Just bought a Fabia 1.4 16v Elegance model for my expectant missus. And a very nice car it seems too. Bought on a bit of a whim one evening from a doctor in Tooting. Already a VW owner, so seemed like a logical step.

Welcome to Briskoda. Let us know what you think of the Fabia compared with your VW in due course. :)

Welcome :orb_wave:

Do let us know what SWMBO thinks of it. :)

Welcome! You will spy a lot of similar switchgear as the VW.Quick glance under the bonnet will also reveal an array of VW/Audi bits.

Hope SWMBO enjoys it.Great car

Hi and welcome :wavey:

SWMBO likes it so far, but she has difficulty parking it, but given that her last vehicle was a fiat seicento with power steering anything else will be harder - that car could be shoe-horned into the most ridiculous spaces known to man.

I've had a couple of drives now - and can report it feels like a bigger car as the ride is exeptionally smooth and cabin is very spacious. A lot of the switchgear is the same as my VW Bora, and the plastics are of a similar quality in most places, but not all - that is to be expected however. The aircon works fabulously for a 5 year old car, I reckon it's colder than my VW, and the heated seats warm up very quickly.

My main reason for buying was:

a) It's cheaper than a 2nd hand mk 4 polo 1.4 16v (and bigger?)

B) It's unbelieveably 5 insurances groups lower for the same engine - yes the Polo 1.4 16v is group 10 whereas my skoda is only group 5. My Bora is group 16 (180bhp turbo version) , so wasn't really up for another large insurance bill.

Also I bet there are not many 100bhp cars that qualify for cheap road tax.
