Headlight restoration, West Yorkshire area?

Featured Replies

Hello

My plastic headlights are really faded on my clio and would love to restore them back to shiny loveliness again.

Is there anyone in the Leeds ish area that could help me out please?

Would be so so grateful as they're letting the car down.

Thank you! Dan

I'm sure ChrisRs can assist on this one!

If you don't mind the drive over to Bingley....I can do for you

How much would you charge? :) I'm trying to not spend as much money on this car being a recent graduate still searching for a job haha.

Not much mate ...it's not a long job

You cant receive PM's

Here is what I sent you..No secrets here:

Hi Dan
It really depends on how much work there is...Certainly no more that £20...If just a light polish..£10
Let me know when youd like to come over
Regards
Chris

They are really bad. I might just invest in the turtle wax kit at tescos and risk it as it's quite a drive to yours!!

I'm sure we can come to an arrangement.

They need machine polishing...By hand will take a lot of time and effort

A lot of time and effort. I would agree you need powered buffer.

Just my advise.

Well I thought i'd give it a go myself after doing some googling, how hard can it be :P

Started with wet and dry 1200, then 2000 then finally 2500 until the green had gone. Then machine polished them on the slowest setting with megs #105 until they started getting clearer. Then glazed with prima amigo and put two layers of Collinite #915

Really happy with the results, they're not absolutely brand new perfect as I didn't want to overdue the machine polishing with it being plastic and me being a total noob with a machine polisher.

This is before. well foggy at mainly the top of the lens:

Yup excellent job, for a first time you should be proud.

Excellent work Dan - seems like you found the right detail on google and used good products!

I like the colour of the Clio btw - very nice motor!!!

Hi Chris

Do you still do headlight restoration? I’ve got a Mini Cooper and the headlights need sorting out. I can come to bingley, I’m not too far.

Unfortunately, ChrisRs does not come on this forum anymore, but one of his friends on here may see this and pass on the question for you. If not, one of the other guys on here may be able to help you out.
