Advice please. Thinking about tuning vRS???

I know there are many threads already but just want a few thoughts from some experienced members.

My Fabia vRS has now covered 4k miles now and I'm thinking about doing some tuning but on a budget!

I have read many threads re. resistors, analogue, digital and re-map but my criteria is budget >

If you increase power produced by an engine, you increase stress on the engine and associated components such as the clutch - 160+ bhp may not be a problem, however it might; if you are short on pennies, it may be worth leaving well alone.

A removable tuning box should be transparent as far as dealers are concerned but there is no guarantee it will not harm your car.

Obviously if you are travelling quicker, better brakes and suspension would be a welcome modification, and improve the safety of your vehicle.

The strut brace seems to stop the skittish nature of the Furby at higher speeds, it also improves feel. Again, if it's 1/4 of your budget you might want to prioritise.

Also bear in mind the insurance cost of these additions - a removable tuning box is all very well but if you end up in hospital and can't remove it, the insurance company won't pay unless it's declared.

Modding is worthwhile but it's a slippery slope (just ask some of the guys on here) and if the car's new and the budget's tight, you might be better off doing an IAM course or similar to get the same results.
