Metallic chafing when turning left!

Featured Replies

Some of you may know Ive been doing a fair few bits to my octy, got it just about finished today. Took it for a spin on way to wheel aligners and there a fairly loud metallic chafing noise coming from the drivers front wheel. Its in rotation with the wheel speed so the faster the wheel speed the fast the chafing noise! It 1st started tempermental after i had the clutch done when i first got the octy about a year ago, but nothing like it is now! It sounds like the back plate to the disc is catching on the disc but ove bent it back and it still does it!

There is no excess movement 12 / 6 o clock or 9 / 3 o clock and it doesnt do it when wheel off the ground.

Could it be wheel bearing? Anybody experienced this?

Could be a bearing or a dry CV joint....slide the boot off and see if its dry

It seems to have gone! Replaced the cv joint a couple months ago
