Why does it have to rain when I've cleaned the car!

Featured Replies

Thought that I'd better get the car clean for my trip to the land of the Germans and thanks to this community I now know how to switch my headlights for mainland Europe and using a quick detailer as a drying aid.

The car really should have been detoxed however I didn't really have time so cleaned the wheels with AG Custom Wheel cleaner and rinsed them off followed by washing with a soap solution (Zymol Auto Wash) using a bucket just for the wheels.

Washed the rest of the car using the TBM again using the Zymol Auto Was which has a really nice smell of bananas & coconut. Rinsed the car off and using a 1:1 solution of Megs Last Touch and water in a pressure spray gave it a light spray to help with the drying phase. It's the 1st time I've tried this and it works really well, Towel dried with my Uber Drying Towel and no water marks in evidence :)

Polished with AS Platinum polish which came up really well and was easy to apply with a Megs Foam Applicator and wipe of with a microfiber cloth, I let that cure whilst I hovered out the inside.

Applied Megs Ultimate Quik Wax using 2 microfiber towels, one to spread the wax and the other to buff off, then did the trim with AG Vinyl & Rubber Care and gave the tyres a coating of Carplan Tyre Slik and finished off the wheels with AG Allot Wheel Seal only for it to start raining :(

Well at least there is some reflection on it

Well at least there is some beading on it

I was tempted to rinse and dry again, but the rain then really set in :(

Nice work

It rained here too today and the water just ran off as I drove it

It seems the rain gods do like to test for beading.

But good work, especially on a black car. I know a few black cars that look terrible!

I tend to find the weather forecast is a part of my cleaning routine now!

Those black Alloys scratch easily too

It always rains part way through for me. Lost count of the times I've been stood in the garage while it's p1ssing down watching the snowfoam slowly dissappear or had to finish it off inside as the heavens open just as I'm finishing the drying off.

....to test the beading of course!
