Mazda Premacy

Featured Replies

Quick question, my dad (like my brother, also a plonka) bought a Mazda Premacy. Does anyone know what the S is? And what the small button does on the stick?

Isn't it winter mode? The little button on the shifter possibly allows you to choose 3,2,1 rather than D,S,L?

Is the little button to allow you to get it into neutral if there is a problem?

The little button drops it in and out of Over Drive, & shows that on the Dash if it is the same as my Suzuki Automatics.

On mine which are 4 Gears, it drops it to 3rd,

i use that for Decelerating instead of touching the brakes.

(press in or out, drop a gear.)

'L' is Low, & good for Crawling along slowly, towing something on slippy ground etc.

I do not have 'S',

but in the case of that car i take it as being 'Snow',  Winter/Slippy Driving,

Stops it going up to top Gear.

Some can think of it as Sport, because its like being in 'D' and having the little button pushed and 'O/D' off.

Or as Snow, Spirited,

Sometimes lost in Translation.

If it is Totally Different from my Suzuki, but i have found the Autoboxes on them to be much the Same Box.

The only Difference is i also have a Transfer box with a Second Lever & Lower Gearing.

That is a Similar Gearbox as to on the Mazda Bongo - Ford Freda Camper/ People Carriers,  Mazda-Ford Parts.
