Changing from a Stream to Alpine head unit what aerial lead

Featured Replies

The car is an 05 Mk II Octavia

The unit going in is an Alpine CDE-173BT

I'm confused a bit about the swap.

I know i needs a facia adapter for a single din and was going to order this 1

And this adapter http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/skoda/octavia/ct20sk01-harness-adapter-for-skoda-octavia

but there's 3 aerial conectors

1 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/skoda/octavia/ct27aa08-aerial-antenna-vag-active-din-adaptor

2 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/skoda/octavia/ct27aa15-aerial-adapter-for-citroen-peugeot-skoda-vauxhall

3 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/install-adaptors/skoda/octavia/ct27aa14-aerial-adapter-for-citroen-peugeot-skoda-vauxhall

I also read that i will have to run a switched power supply from the fuse box to the radio/aerial ?

Heres the conectors im working with [Thumbnails] and i know i'll lose the CD changer

Well, it rather depends on the aerial connector on the new head-unit. It will be either 2 or 3 on your list.

Running a switched live it not a problem, just test one of the empty fusebays in the fusebox and use a piggyback or spade connector and in-line fuse. The underside of the steering shroud is held on with 5 or 6 screws.

You'll need to do this anyway for the new head-unit as there is no switched live in the quadlock (OE units are controlled by CANBus commands).
