Hi I had to downgrade my headlight units from xenon to standard due to a front end bump. Now they are standard lamps I keep getting a headlight failure warning. What can I do to clear this?

Why on earth did you downgrade?

There are plenty of used HID units available, it cost me only £100 each and they are pretty much mint and came with all the bulbs too.

Do not forget you can also sell the ballasts and igniters off the old units - perhaps even the old HID bulbs if not damaged - on flea bay.  This can make you around £150-200.  So could pay for the new second-hand headlights.

 

In your current position perhaps if you get an H7 CAN bus friendly HID kit - then the errors should be gone and you will have dipped hid at least.
