Any ideas? Driver's side had a nut at the rack end which offered a counter point for applying pressure. Near side is beyond me. The tie-rod is a single piece unit.

Ah yes mk2 polo is it? That's how they come from the factory. You need to replace the whole track rod, it's a 32mm crows foot wrench at the rack end and the whole thing comes off as one piece.

Mk2 Golf- I was hoping it wouldn't come to that seeing as i've just put the whole lot together! Cheers matey, i'll see if I can get it sorted.
