Finally remap time

After a few set backs ive finally got the car ready for a stage 2 remap,r8 coilpacks,downpipe decat and milltek system,BSH intake ,latest revision DV and PCV done and a new Sachs clutch and flywheel installed.

I can't stretch to a new fuel pump at present but I still hope for a marked improvement over the current stock map.

Using VCDS it appeared to show 211bhp and certainly feels alot better than when I first bought it.

I'm going to use Starperformance as he is close and his maps are reliable and have an OEM feel .

He uses software from a programmer that used to write for Revo and goes under Oscarli .Ive heard good stuff about them anyway.

My point is what sort of Bhp/lbs should I be expecting.Figures seem to be all over the place on the net and looking at results from JKM there are people with more power from a stage 1 than some with stage 2+?

It's done through logging g/s Steve, it dosent give you the power, but if you do the maths you can equate it to work out what bhp can flow at that rate, it's not 100% accurate, but in some cases - it is not far off.

I.e most use 0.8, so if you were (for example) logging 200 g/s that would be 200 / 0.8 = 250 bhp.

General rule of thumb.

Yeah as AVO says,I know its not 100% but it gives me a good idea of any problems.It showed 238lbs too but that seem a bit far fetched on a base map.

I'll report back on Thursday after the map

Just back from mapping now.FIrst Jim at star wasn't overly keen to give it a stage 2 as I have a standard clutch ( albeit a new one) and I have a standard fuel pump.

I expected 250 ish bhp but when jim returned he was smiling saying "it's a good one" :)

His bum dyno is 265+ bhp and about 300lbs.

Feels very OEM and smooth but with massive torque all the way from 1800rpm and it really pushes to 6500.

Ill post an update once I've driven it more
