Is my "alarm" going off?

Featured Replies

Weird thing today - I swear it wasn't doing it before. battery was almost flat so I decided to leave it on trickle charge to give it some boost. While it was trickle charging I noticed that when I opened a door of the car, the hazards would flash (no noise obviously as I don't even know where the siren is / should be)

They'd stop flashing after a good dozen flahses, or turning the ignition on would kill them. I had previously been trying the "hold car door key in lock/hold vRS remote in lock" matching technique which failed. I wonder if that did anything?

Not too bothered about it, but it did only seem to come on when I was trickle charging the battery.

I suspect the alarm is indeed going off. The hazards do flash on my vRS when it's triggered.

I had a Pug 306 with a faulty siren - the alarm had a habit of going off all day without anyone noticing and totally draining the battery in the process.

Hmmmm, but with the vRS remote control doing nothing, I wonder how the hell I turn it off? OR, maybe by accident the remote is activating/deactiviating the alarm system, but not unlocking the doors.... I wonder? I know that the remote central locking control unit is likely to be a mismatched frequency due to early/late generations (thanks K ;)) so I wonder if maybe it will be all work as it should if and when I get the vRS remote control unit doofla? :D
