Found the source of "fumes in the cabin"

....

Bloody powerflow muppet hadn't done up a bolt tight enough. Was fiddling with the exhaust as with the new engine/turbo being different, the exhaust was sitting higher at the tailend, pushed right into the bumper.

So my mate undid the clamp which the powerflow people had put in to hold the decat pipe and OEM pipe together. Looking closer we could see loads of black gunk around the clamp, and lots behind it too, all over the exhaust pipe.

So, made sure these two bolts were done up REALLY tight when we got the exhaust sitting correctly at the back. Hopefully thats the end of getting the smell of fumes in the cabin when opening up the throttle on full.

So nice to know I'm sorting out other problems I had before at the same time. Shame the HU still sticks out 2". :o Gotta get that wiring sorted out.

Ouch - glad you found it though as that's not too healthy ;)

Yeah, isn't one of the most carcinogenic chemicals known to man found in diesel exhaust fumes?

It was never that much, and it only happened when the windows were down and dragging it it. It was more of a smell, than actual smoke or fumes, but it bloody stank and wasn't nice (enough for me to ease off the go-go juice :( )

Should be OK now though, mate said he would undo again and slap some paste in there if it repeated.
