Due to finally buying my new Golf GTD, the Skoda unfortunately has to go.  I've owned the car since late 2009 and put about 35k on it since then. The car looks like a bog-standard Sport, unless you look VERY closely, but there's quite a lot been upgraded, so here's the list (car is based South Manchester / Cheshire border):

  • New ABS ECU - to fix G201 sensor failure (fitted 08/12) by volksmaster
  • New larger 312mm EBC grooved & dimpled front brake disks (06/13)
  • New EBC standard rear disks (06/13)
  • New EBC redstuff pads all round (06/13)
  • New Bilstein B12 Pro Kit (06/13)
  • New top-mount bearings (06/13)
  • Darkside GTB1756V Turbo Kit (07/13)
  • Darkside Hard Intercooler Pipe Kit (07/13)
  • Darkside EGR Delete & Race Pipe (07/13)
  • Sachs Uprated DMF & Clutch (07/13)
  • Darkside custom remap
  • Pipewerx custom 2.5" de-catted S/S exhaust (05/14)

All the above work was carried out by either Darkside themselves (turbo, clutch and remap) or an independent garage, i.e. NOT by me, at a cost of approximately £4750. As a result, the Engine develops just shy of 220 BHP and somewhere north of 300 lb/ft of torque.

The car has now done 98k and until the weekend was used as my daily drive and never skipped a beat - EVERYTHING apart from the mods detailed above is standard; badges, alloys, head unit, 6CD autochanger in the boot etc.

However the car is not without some minor niggles:

  • Rear wiper motor has failed (never used it anyway)
  • Aircon needs a regas (lived with it all summer, don't see the point now we're heading into autumn)
  • Airbag light is lit on the dash (for the MOT a month ago I just had to waggle the wires under the drivers seat to make it go out for a week)

There's a crack in the paintwork on the rear bumper, and a scuff on front nearside bumper (Top Tip: don't let your missus reverse your car off the drive unless it's the size of a football field) and there's a tiny mark where someone has barked the bottom of the rear passenger door on a high kerb. Also, a couple of the alloys have been kerbed, but nothing that wouldn't be easily sorted by a wheel refurb.

The car is a proper wolf in sheeps clothing - just been out in it now, and in the bone dry it'll happily spin the front wheels in 3rd if you're driving briskly. To be honest, I can't believe how much better it goes than the Mk6 GTD I bought at the weekend :(  The MPG is incredible too, if you don't drive it like a hooligan - a recent sedate drive to north wales (85 mile trip) gave an indicated 68 MPG for the journey.

Car has been serviced on schedule by a local independent since I bought it, and had a full timing belt kit including water pump done on the last service approx 1 month ago, as well as an MOT.

I'd really rather not sell this car, but I'm under a lot of pressure from 'er indoors to make some space on the drive, plus I need to fund the GTB2260VK conversion for the Golf - the chaps at Darkside reckon the CR170 lump should be good for 270ish BHP with a bit of fettling :)

Looking for offers over £3500.

Thanks,

Jake
