Buying a mk1 Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Hope this is in the right place... (first post)

Hi all. I'm looking to buy a Octavia vRS for around the £1500 mark (on a budget lol).

I'm new to Skoda, so I'm just looking for some advice regarding what to look for and what to expect for this price.

I'm hopefully viewing a few this weekend but one has caught my eye in particular. It's a 51 plate and has 106k miles, loads of history and bodywork is tidy for it's age. I have done some research and know that the cam belt and water pump replacement, around 60k or every 4 years, is a must. The seller has confirmed they were replaced in 2009.

As Skoda owner's would you replace them again soon? I've heard these cars are 'bombproof' in terms of reliability, but if somethings going to go wrong I'd prefer to know in advance lol.

Cheers guys

Hi 88Gaz and welcome to Briskoda.

Hopefully, a Mod will see your post and move it to the Octy section, where it will get the specific attention of Brisky's Octy experts.

Good luck with your search for a Skoda.
