I have just tired to fit my new skoda amundsen+ head unit as a upgrade from my stream mp3 and it seems I need 2 ariels?!?

You can get a 2 into 1 adapter for it i believe. Probably off ebay. Not sure where to plug it in at first though, is there any way to do a signal strength test and find out that way?.
