Check List for used Fabia Estate VRS

Featured Replies

Good Evening All,

I have just ordered a 12 plate Fabia Estate VRS (Engine for me, boot for the Mrs and kids), normally I would just order the car and drive away happy but after reading through all the fantastic information uploaded into here regarding this highly strung engine I wanted to ask if I should get the dealer to:

Let me know if there has been any previous warranty work

Check the spark plugs in case of any damage to them from any previous owner using 95 ron fuel

Get them to only put 99 RON in before handover

Not sure if this is just paranoia on my part after reading too much on here or whether it is important to do all this.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

That the car has had the service schedule work done is important. If it had required any warranty work. And had it had any service campaign work done such as the service campaign. Field work for the dsg and heated seats. Not sure they will put in 99 Ron. Easy enough to start running on that yourself. Just be sure that everything dealers should have done, has been.

Thank you GoneoffSKi, it is supposed to have full history as is from an official dealership, I have put it on a service plan as well to keep it running A1.

What do you mean by field work for the DSG? So one tank of 95 wouldn't really cause any damage?

It is a used car. You have no idea what a previous owner used in the way of fuel. There is a service campaign to change the oil in some dsg as fitted from 2010 to 2014. The dealer needs to check if the car requires it doing.

Ring Skoda uk, give them the reg number and they should be able to tell you if any warranty work has been done.

Don't worry about past fuel use, just fill up with super from now on and enjoy!

Thanks all, will upload pictures when she arrives.

Just do all the regular checks and cross your fingers like you would for anycar. They are a very surprising little beast that with only a little work (ie. Lowered springs) are a big improvement over stock.
