stupid question

Featured Replies

Does coolant naturally flow through the expansion tank on a vrs. Hence if coolant strength not correct use cypon tube to take water out of expansion tank say 500ml top back up with antifreeze and in theory it should mix after a good few miles.

Any thoughts guys, looking at pdf tsi engine manual it does but your thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes it does flow through, just top it up with the correct pink fluid, XLC, I think it is or you can pay through the nose for Skoda/VAG coolant fluid.

Id of thought the hotter coolant would rise up to the top of the system and the top cooler stuff drop to the bottom, thus circulating round.

coolant flows in though the thin pipe near the top of the bowl and is drawn into the coolant system from the bottom of the bowl.
