Featured Replies

hi all have a question can i have hids on my fl 2010 octy vrs

+1 for the non canbus kit. Try londoncolor on ebay

Has anyone actually had it happen to them with canbus kits though? A Google search only ever shows up people claiming it does never that it actually has?

Dunno about on the Octavia but the Volvo S40/V50 forum I used to be on was full of posts about burnt our wiper motors and ECU's so yes, it's not an Internet myth.

I had a chat with someone on here that had 3 control units damaged by canbus HIDs he had then replaced under warranty, but if that was me I couldn't be doing with that kind of unreliability.

I'm surprised they kept replacing the thing under warranty like that. Having said that, I'm surprised he insisted on keeping the canbus HIDs knowing the damage they were big doing.

My thought exactly, don't understand that at all. I couldn't leave in something that was obviously doing so much damage. it would seem obvious to me that a big capacitor across a solid state controlled power device is probably a bad idea.
