Yes, but be careful as it is designed to fill up when the tank expands, so if it expands when you've just filled it up, you'll be overflowing. :eek:

Not sure in what weather conditions the tank does expand sufficiently to make it overflow after brimming it up.

dunno but i only do it when im going to use enough to get it under the normal max fill

What happens if you do fill up the expansion tank and leave it in the heat?

Is there a 'safe' way of it escaping? Or will it just damage something?

Correct as it back up down the fuel return line and fills up the charcoal canister and pops up the engine management light. Not covered by warranty as you have overfilled it.

How much will it cost to fix.

I've used the expansion tank on my car quite a number of times and have not had any problems.
