09 Superb 2 tdi losing power until change gears

Featured Replies

Hey,

I had a search through the forums but couldn't find anything on this, but over the past couple of days our car has started to lose power at any gear until the gear is changed, either up or down and then its fine.

It's been into the garage as initially the exhaust warning light came on but its still occurring. Has anyone any ideas, is the turbo going?

We have a mapfre freeway warranty (car is only 5 months old). The garage yesterday said that the timing belt was looking worn, would this be it either?

Really appreciate any advice!!

Joe

Huh? I'd read "car is only 5 months old" as "5 months from first registration", which is a manufacturer/supplying dealer problem.

No sorry was only bought 5 months ago - 2nd hand. 2009 is year of manufacture.

I would be very suprised if it had anything to do with the timing belt looking old, because it would either be making a lot of noise and coming to a stop or be permanently in a little trouble and "not coming back to life when you change gear"

The warning light is a big clue and needs to have any fault codes read but why did the garage not read the fault codes.
