Observations of first proper drive

Featured Replies

1) alignment is WAY out - pulls badly to the right - booked in to sort

2) boost was firstly not there - stopped to fill up with fuel

3) boost was there for trip to DVLA in Exeter  Exhaust sounds nice. Got boost guage to read 1.3 bar momentarily. Then took it easy.

4) car doesn't like going above 70mph. :(

5) Real bad grinding noise from brakes on full right lock - full left lock.. it goes quiet. Mean anything? :( Also could do with some bleeding again I think, as well as plenty of bedding in.

6) DVLA Exeter employ some nice looking women - especially the one who inspected my engine and chassis number. :naughty: :D

7) Battery needs some juice - had to be jump started this morning.

8) Water warning light came on + 3 LOUD beeps! :( But temp held steady at 90, pointing dead at noon - so I think it just needs topping up after perhaps some air got in there with the first fill. Shall do before leaving work.

9) "New" front bumper looks the "dog's danglies" even with most of it covered in filler. Matey has done something very clever and made the black bump strip continue around the "mouth" in a frame.

10) FMIC intake pipe blocks bumper fitting properly - got one bolt and one zip tie holding it on - Needs some "modding" to fit I suspect - Shall let bodyshop do that.

11) Aside from that I am SIMPLY :woohoo: :woot: :D that my car is sat here in work's car-park!

Can we see some photos..?

Of the DVLA women, I mean.

PMSL! Left the camera at home. Was going to ask her to drape over the bonnet. I think it was the flourescent reflective jacket that was doing it for me! :D :naughty:

Hey if that was all she was wearing :naughty:

Its rather ammusing that no one has commented on the car in this thread - just the girl at DVLA.

Shallow yet perfectly predictable

No worries, we're still interested in the car as well ;):D :D :D

Brought forward protyre's alignment check to 8am Wednesday now. At least it will be tracking straight. :D

Will take some piccies tonight - but front bumper isn't even on straight so it looks kinda funny. :D

Oh, and another thing - I noticed the power steering is REALLY light - This could simply be due to me driving a nice positive steering Jag for too long. :D

Right, I need to swap the engine again to get that woman from the DVLA out again in her flourescents. :D

Whenever I have a Fabia courtesy car I notice the steering is amazingly light - VAG-COM can adjust this though I believe.

It can, but I'm pretty sure they come out of the factory on the heaviest setting.....
