This isn't how its going to end up, i.e more work shall be done to the front bumper, tarted up, resprayed I think, and some bits need cutting to allow the FMIC pipework to fit, especially behind that panel beside the right foglight which wouldn't fit back due to the pipework bending it a bit. :thumbdwn:

Anyway! I like it! Sure, its nowhere near finished but I like the way the bump strip has been made into a mouth surrounding frame at the top. Almost looks scarily OEM. (who am I kidding)

I like it! Others may not. ;) I don't care, it's my car :D :P

Oooh I like, shows of the FMIC a treat :)

Something different, nice one

only two points against it in my eyes mate, not a big fan of the green crash bar, doesn't fit well imho and 2nd there needs to be some sort of bar either side of the mesh at the bottom in silver to seperate it from the grilles.

oher than looking good :)

love the turbo badge!!! propor boy racer:P lol u getting a shopping list on the side...lol, only kidding mate looks well mean!...*cough* new grill *cough*:P

Yeah, I thought matey was going to have the black frame going all the way around, but I guess its tricky. Shall give the bumper bar colouration some time - I just got carried away when doing the brakes.

I have some black hammerite just in case, or maybe I should try spraying in diamond metallic silver? :D

Like I said, its in development, I just needed it back to get the car legally to the DVLA. Can't help it the izard left my job half way through and buggered off to somewhere exotic for a fortnight. :D

silver sounds good mate

you going to get briskoda printed on the mesh like skoda have on the wrc cars?:)

Hmmm. Think I used up my cans of diamond metallic silver spray paint.... Might have one left over though. Never thought to try that colour to be honest. Just instinctively went for the vRS green first. :o

Mesh is too much like chicken wire to spray anything on it to make sense. Need much finer mesh really, for that tactic to work.

Nah - I don't fancy any flexible finer mesh - the stuff here is rock hard and will happily shrug off any potential FMIC damaging projectiles. Only thing that could be dodgy is a high speed impact with a badger.

It might be Ripspeed, but it's a decent stainless mesh.

had a play on photoshop!! :P bit shody as my laptops playing up but heres my attemp to predict ur cars future! :)Untitled-1.jpg

hmmmmm

might just be able to lay my hands on a supply of small stainless steel mesh........a new line coming in at work - will look into the possibilities

May have missed this in all the excitement, but where are you going to put the number plate?

Not a bad photoshop attempt mate.

Give it a silver beesting, no door rubbing strips & silver covers on the door handles, its not far off at all. :)

The GOB has returned. Piccies to follow ;) I left my camera in my mate's jag! Looks OK for a rush job! Need to get it back for 1/2 hour on Monday night to polish and bring up to life.

Only problem now is finding a decent place to have the numberplate. Looks like it might end up hanging down below bump strip, over the blanked off panel to the inside of the left hand foglight. There'll be some experimentation soon. ;)

Cant you get those stick on ones and put it to one side of the front bumper...?

Yeah, but now the bump strip.. (oops nearly gave away what was done this morning... :D)

Basically there's nowhere without a bend, nowhere straight on most of the bumper (I just removed the only remaining flat bit :D)

So I might need to be slightly clever with some custom made-up spacers, or let the plate hang down a bit. I might try putting it in paint and seeing what it looks like. :)

Edit: After a butchering in Paint, a bit like this?

FMIC-plate.JPG

You'll have to get rid of the green either that or paint the top plastic grid green as well
