oneplusone or z2?

Featured Replies

i 'might' get me a new phone soon and these two look about the right sort of price and nice features

oneplusone is £269 which works out more than it was in $$, maybe import tax, and can only be bought this weekend, i'd be using my £7 per month sim = £437/24 month

or the z2 at £22 per month + £19 upfront = £547/24 month

what im after in a phone is something good for films, great camera, good battery and will get android 5 and not £35+ per month, its just getting stupid, thats why im on a 30 day sim just now till i make up my mind

currently i have a HTC one x plus but as its on 4.2 i feel left behind, i dont want to pay anything more than this which rules out a lg g3 and i have a feeling my current phone might be ill, keeps saying no sim inserted, tried a new sim but the same and the battery never seems to last as long these days

anyone got either of these and can comment on the things i want in a phone?

Hi

If you like the LG have you tried www.mobiles.co.uk?  They have the LG G3 on O2 for £18 a month.  All their phones are unlocked (as are their parent company Carphone Warehouse).  So you can use your sim on their phone.

If you'd prefer to buy one outright let me know.  I do know of a completely mint in box, unmarked unlocked one with extra battery, 2 tempered glass screen protectors, a few cases inc the wireless QI charging case etc.

Although I use a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (too small for your needs) I did used to use a G3 as my daily driver.  I've found though that as I use a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 to browse the web when away from home using my mobile as a wifi hotspot, I needed a smaller phone otherwise I'd have still kept mine.  Very good machines.

But if you're deciding between the Z2 and the OnePlus One I'd go with the OnePlus One personally.

I have my order ready to go for the 27th also:)

There are plenty of great ROMS out there for your existing device that will make it fly, through to 4.4.4.

biomulv, yes im sure there are but without a spare phone im loathed to try it coz knowing me ill break it

id like a new phone with better camera so when i decide ill mod old phone without any pressure and if it works ill give it to my little lass, both be happy then :)

Why can the phone only be ordered this weekend? Where from?

Nexus 5?  Anything branded you'll be waiting up to Q2 2015 to get Android 5.

still undecided

reading up on their forum its not all roses with the oneplusone, and its giving me doubts

on paper it sounds fantastic but i really dont want the fabia vrs of the phone world :( good on paper but in reality its flawed

i guess i really wont decide till 3pm tomz, i really like the z2 phone but do i want another 2 year contract :/

decisions decisions

Keep reading about charging issues with the oneplus so probably wise to avoid.

Not tempted by a nexus 5?

the 13mp camera was a big attraction as-well as the price, nexus is 8 same as my one x +

im really really starting to think the sony with its 20mp one, as a phone the other main use by me is photos so maybe thats the one to go for

no doubt by the time i decide there'll be something else out there

did anyone see the HTC M8 for £289 @ Vodafone?

or the Honor 6 at £249 on amazon?

once you start looking theres loads of good phones for less than 300 notes, so many that its very difficult to choose

ive decided im going to wait until i know the phone i buy will run android 5 without custom roms

I have the Huawei Ascend P7** - fairly similar to the Honor 6. Now down to £255 at Expansys (£270 when I bought mine). 5" 1080x1920 display with a Sony 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. Very similar size to the Nexus 5 that I was looking at before the P7, but it was the external storage and better camera that made it the better choice (for me). I did look at the oneplusone, but I was a little concerned about support if it needed to be returned. At least Huawei have a little bit bigger presence in the UK than Oppo.

Both are only 16gb versions.
