front seat removal

Featured Replies

I intend removing the seat of my mark 1 Octavia 2002

I believe there is an electrical connection under the seat.

Do I just remove it and replace when finished or will some lights on the dash flash up that will need a diagnostic set up to remove.

If I disconnect the battery will this not bugger up the radio code?

Would appreciate some advice

I think from memory the only connection under the seat is for the seat belt warning chime. I have mine permanently disconnected as the noise gets on my nerves. No need to disconnect the battery.

If you have seat airbags then you will get a warning light if you have the ignition on with the seats removed. No seat airbags in the vrs though. Can't see what car you have on my phone.

Seat easy to remove.

No need to remove battery

Wind seat upright as forward as possible.

Remove the 2 plastic side covers with pozi drive

Remove front seat nuts (13mm) x2

Slide seat backwards

Tip up from front to lean against rear seat.

Check out cable under seat. Depending on model you may have seat belt warning and or airbag loom.

Unplug and remove seat.
