If its not working the lens might just need cleaning, if its anything like the Audi RNS-D (Audi version of the same system) its easy to access the lens to

clean it.

thanks, Manny. Would one of those lens cleaners from PC World or such like be OK?

I updated the previous post with a link on how to access the laser.

yep, clicked reload and saw it. Thank you :)

It's loaded a couple of times but something's not 100%. I'll take it out and give it a go tomorrow hopefully.

Glad I've already got the recommended tools otherwise it'd be economically unviable :D

Is your new system not working 100% then Lee?

What's happened to it?

Oh OK :D

CD ROM isn't reading correctly :( Disc is fine I think but the reader seems to be struggling to read the data.

Damn...

I see what you mean about economically unviable.

Doesn't help that the units are so rare, finding one to cannibalise isn't easy either.

Try an Audio CD (shop bought one), the MFD1 should be able to play these in the internal drive.

If the map CD is a burnt one, then they are very difficult to get working reliably.

Manny, the CD was a genuine 2006 one I found on the bay. CD is totally unblemished. The reader sounds like it's struggling to read correctly, whirring then stop then whirring again.

I thought the reader only played CD's? I'll give it a go.
