Estate Interior Lighting Upgrades

Featured Replies

Hi All

I'm in need of some additional lighting, getting the kids in and buckled up is difficult with no rears lights. I'm thinking along the lines of:

  • Grab-handle lights from a Mk.I Octavia (like these either rear only or maybe all four doors, probably with LED bulbs

  • Centre-mounted headlining light like this

  • Footwell lights front and rear

But I guess I'll also need the metal headlining retaining clips for those lights - any idea on how to get those part numbers? Headlining lights I'd run from the factor fit light as others have done.

For footwell lighting is there a convenient power source to tap in to? I don't really want to pull it apart too much if I can avoid it.

Many thanks!

I'm not sure about your questions but JayMitchell may be able to help, he's fitted countless lights inside his, he may have some tips...

I wanted to do this mod as I find the vrs to dark in the rear when you unlock/open the door

Thanks for the replies. I made a visit to the dealer, and found that the factory fitted light as fitted in VRS with sunroof option and all Elegance models is screwed to the roof like the front light and there is no metal retaining clip around the cutout in the headlining.

So the question is whether the estate, without the sunroof, will have the threaded mounts and, if it does, where the are.

Otherwise, Korban very kindly sent me a link to this thread, where lights from an Octavia were installed in the space in the grab handles, which looks like a pretty good option as well.
