Which Polish

Featured Replies

Afternoon friends, detailers and Briskodians.

Could do with a little advice please.  Today or tomorrow is order day for the DA I've not gotten around to buying.  The DAS pro is the current favourite based on ealier reading and conversations.  Willing to be swayed still.

Thanks to Ste it looks like im sorted for pads, so polish would be the missing part of the part of puzzle.  Recommend me one please.  It will be used of a race blue Octavia from 08 and a 10 plate ford fiesta.  The octavia isnt horribly swirly, and those on there only show up in a certain light.  The fiesta is swirly but the colour hides it well.  Might even be used on a white citroen shed of a van as a tester first.

I am a novice at machine polishing so will be reading like a good'un over the next day, but please keep than in mind with product selections.

Maybe get a cleaner polish like lime prime and then it's ip to you really you could get an AIO like need for speed or auto finesse triple, much easier for a beginner

Sonax 04-06 is great on a DA and as a 1 step polish.

thanks carl

I've got a cleaner polish from ab already, was thinking something with a little cut to remove the few remaining swirls on mine and the swirls on the other car.

When you say an all in one would be easier, do you mean quicker in a "why take two bottles into the shower" way or easier for another reason?

also regarding AIOs, would the protection laid down by one of these reduce the effectiveness of what would follow, ie would it lessen the bonds that are needed?

Sonax 04-06 is a good polish indeed for enhancement; or a decent AIO such as Britemax or AF-tripple as suggested.

Certainly 2 products i'm using a lot of at the moment.

sorry ben, didnt see your reply there.  That certainly looks like the sort of thing from the write up, and a familiar face posting underneath it on the cyc website - hello Chris.

The comment before chris' alludes to following this with a product with lime prime because of the micro abrasives.  Is this needed or even recommended?

Yeah sorry I did mean easier as in its all in one bottle, save you time that kind of thing. As for the protection laid down I would say not as good as using multiple products.

I'm also a fan of 04 06 I got it with my DA21E and used it in my sisters swirled Subaru and it worked a treat with a good pad. Very little effort needed.
