Tweaking an '11 Superb

Featured Replies

I picked up my '11 Superb SE at the weekend and having looked around on the forums, there were a few things I was looking to do and get some advice on.

Sorry if these questions are basic, new to car tweaking!

Bolero to Columbus replacement

VCDS tweaks:

  • M/PH in Maxidot
    • Is it possible to also keep K/PH as well?
    • I presume the M/PH just becomes one of the options the Maxidot can scroll through?
  • Cruise control speed displayed in Maxidot with rocker changing +/- 1 M/PH each time
  • Enabling auto wipers
    • Does this close the windows on rain as well, or is that controlled via the Maxidot?

I might look to do an OEM Bluetooth install at some point (car doesn’t have a module under drivers seat), but it's a long way down the list.

Are there any disadvantages of the above changes, or any other tweaks people would suggest?

Thanks in advance!

Activation of auto wipers should give you rain closure too.

Tried the cruise control change on my car and while the option is there when I plug in it doesn't change the screen display. I assumed it was that the firmware in my 2011 car was too old, but one of the other threads says that this only works in the petrol engined cars. It would be a nice feature if I could get it for nothing, but not worth worrying about if some hacking is involved...

I'd like the cruise control mod for my Superb, it's fitted to my EOS & I find it useful.

It works fine on my 2013 FL diesel, so maybe it only works on the newer diesels.

Perhaps, as psycholist said I'm not going to worry too much about it, if it isn't straight-forward; thanks for the info

If it does work on the facelift, then the instrument panel firmware may be all that's needed as don't think the instrument panel has changed physically in the facelift. I'm dropping the car in for other stuff this week, so I'll ask the garage about it as presumably they could update this (Whether they're officially allowed or not is a different question though). No harm in asking anyway.
