Door Swap - O/S Front

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have been lucky enough to find a replacement offside front door for my Octavia today in the right colour (Agave Green), so I need to embark on swapping it over onto my car.

Looks fairly straight forward (I think) but would welcome any suggestions/tips.  One thing the Haynes manual says it that I need new bolts - is this true??

Thanks in anticipation

Dan

No helps if there is 2 of you and a trolley jack and block of wood to help take the strain at the back corner.

Don't remove the hindge from the car but from the door it will make it a lot easier

Yes your right there stig1 miles easier that way.

Yes you must disconnect the loom from A pillar by removing trim on kick panel. As the replacement door will have its own loom.

I've got to swap the loom from my old door as the breakers just cut the cable at the 'A' post. As the door is just a shell i have also got to take out the glass regulator and window motor from my old door. Fortunately the door latch is on situ and looks new.
