VRS cornering fog lights

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I am new on here and don`t know if this has been asked or done on here so bear with me please.

I have a Octavia II FL vrs diesel and want to activate the cornering fog light function, is this possible on my car and if so is there anyone near Leeds can do this for me?

I also have an issue with the rear wiper, it wipes upon start up almost every time I start the vehicle, even when not turned on and auto wipers turned off. Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my Skoda dealer seems to be unable to sort either out for me.

Thanks in advance.

It gets better and better, thanks guys. I will look them up on here.

Would you happen to leave your car in reverse and start the car with the clutch down? Probably not but throwing an idea out there :D

No It just happens around 20-30 times then will stop. When I use rear wiper next it will start doing it again. In neutral with wipers off and rear wiper off.

I am just concerned as it will end up either scratching the rear screen permanently or tear the wiper if it is frozen up or something.

Just plain annoying really.

Just an update, Skoda have replaced the rear wiper motor and all is well with the wiper issue I was having.

Next one is that while it was in the dealers they noticed that the n/s/r fog light was lighting up instead of the o/s/r. It is going back in tomorrow to have this sorted out.

Still had no joy with the indicator/steering fog light activation though, any ideas or can anyone near Leeds help sort this out for me please? Beer tokens/donations up for grabs!!!

After speaking with the Skoda Tech guy he said that it couldn't be done and that he had to swap a wire in a multiplug to swap it back to the correct rear fog light. He said my car was originally a contract hire car for the armed forces and had been in Germany hence the fog had been swapped for use whilst over there and had been overlooked when it was returned to Skoda at the end of the contract.

I was led to believe from on here that you could just plug in and activate but according to them it couldn't.

Of course if the original change for Taking the car to Germany was done by changing the wires (entirely possible knowing some dealers) then the only way to correct it may be to change them back. I would certainly seek clarification though.

It is reported to be possible to activate both rear fogs on the facelift MkII Octavia using simple code changes but to date no Skoda dealer or VCDS owner has managed it - or at least posted on here to say they've done it.

This YouTube clip bugs me though as there is clearly someone in the car operating the lights and altering the coding via a laptop!

I believe in that video they are using the dealer software VAS rather that VCDS.

Dealers could do it if they had the inclination to find out how.
