Applying Polish

Featured Replies

What is everyone using to apply polish? Currently using Autoglyms Perfect Applicator but not sure if there is anything else which is easier/better.

Are you applying by hand?

Have you considered a Dual Action polishing machine?

I think it's a very personal preference really. Myself and a lot of other members are now using the red foam applicators from eBay.

But the Nippon shine applicators dual sided ones are really nice to use, one of the best I've used tbh they make spreading wax feel like butter!

What your using is quality though so i wouldn't worry about changing unless money is the issue, it's an expensive applicator your using really.

But like Karl said if, your not doing it by hand you could consider a DA however your limited to liquid wax then, but it's obviously great for your polish and glazes.

I presume you mean wax, rather than polish

I use soft, red sponge applicator pads from eBay (China)

He did write polish Chris to be fair it's me that went off on the wax tangent lol

LOL...I see you thought the same....

I was suggesting that he might be confusing the two..it happens a lot

If he wasnt, then I will change my advice to a hand polishing pad...Farecla Hand polishing pads from Halfords are very good...

Or....HERE

I use microfibres applicators for polishes and cleaners and foam applicators for glazes and waxes.

I've now got a da so the microfibres will get used less and less now.

Microfibre pads are really good for applying liquid Waxes, glazes and sealants too

It's by hand. It's just for the polish (already got the pads from Autoglyms HD Wax kit for that). The applicator is great but only got about 15 uses out of it and it's starting to break away. I bought it for £6 on Amazon over a year ago but can't seem to find it anywhere for under £10.

I brought the Meguires twin pack about two years ago and they are still going strong, perhaps you should try some others?
