Rear Left side door, not open from the inside.

Featured Replies

Hello,

i found i have a problem with my Yeti.

the rear left side door, cannot be open from the inside.

i checked up the child-lock from the driver control - still not open.

i checked the child-lock on the rear door - still not open.

the funny thing is, i can open the door from the outside, with no problem.

i lock the door, unlock the door, tried several knocks there, several knocks here - no matter what, the rear left side door, cannot be opening from the inside.

in some forums i read that there is a locking problem with the locking mechanism in skoda superb, but didn't find any details regarding the Yeti.

Also i read, that when the problem accrues, then there's a problem opening the door from the outside and not from the inside.

A. can anybody can tells me, what might be the problem?

B. if there is a unit broken that need to be replaced, can you tell me what is it?.

thank you very much for the help.

Soda.

Hi Soda.  Have you checked the Manual?  In my 2012 version, 'Child Safety Lock' is on page 32.

Hey Brijo,

Yes, i did.

as i said earlier, i did checked it from the driver control on the door (where there is the window's buttons)

and also i checked it on the door it-self.

Does sound like child lock. Does the child lock feel like its doing anything when you turn it from off to on, perhaps the lock has been put on but linkage from it has come adrift so not doing anything when child lock is disarmed.

Hey Kenny,

i didn't get the part of the child lock.

i turn the child lock to the right sight, it making a sound.

and then i try to open the door from the inside, dosn't work.

i can't turn the child lock to the left side, and when i try to do so, afterwards i try to open the door i feel the resist of the door handle fora min' and then it's gone, and still, can't open the door.

weird.

Are you turning the child lock on the rear door using the key? If its not turning to the left, there lies your problem,

Hmmm - mine does the same - the child lock thing on the door just seems to be 'unconnected' - theres no clicks or anything and it has no effect on the door locking.

I think it will be back to the dealer.

Are you sure you are trying the right place for the child locks on the doors?

...And on a Yeti?  OP's sig says Mazda 3  :wonder:

The thread starter and others on it have a problem with Yeti child locks, I cannot help it if A Mazda wrongly posts here (but I suspect the sig is wrong).

My error - it wasn't the OP (I had already replied to that - #2, in fact.)   And I wasn't criticising your post.

Oops. Stupid sig wasnt updated.  That's interesting - the bit I twiddled had  a 'lock' engraving on it but it wasnt on the inner side of the door - rather the rear facing side.

I shall have another look.

Thanks.
