hi just changed head unit in car fabia vrs 2007 , pioneer deh x6500bt  c.d plays fine as does usd , radio all tuned in great signal but when drive off volume goes down like weak reception , do i need a booster aerial to cure it thank's for an help ...did the usual swapped red and yellow so it was plug and play . if i need boost adaptor were does blue wire go thanks any wiring pic's would be a great help .. thanks ian ...   :sweat:

I have the DAB version of this 6500.

 

Is it starting the engine that does for the radio?  If that's the case its electrical interference, which would have been there before anyway, You possibly have a poor connection - I'd guess aerial socket on back of head unit.

 

This radio is very much plug and play, I'd never ever fitted one before  - but I've put this in a Punto, Proton, and a Multipla and it's been great in all 3 and totally trouble free.
