Columbus FW upgrade

Featured Replies

OK, stupid questions because I have no clue, and I'm already running V11 maps so I'm not sure if the firmware upgrade will bring anything to the party ...

If I were to download the version 5269 firmware file from www.my-gti.com and install it on my Skoda Columbus (Delivery part # 3T0035680E, H/W Vers H64, S/W Vers 4024) will it re-brand the head unit to VW on the splash screen or will the Skoda branding still be there?

Anything else I need to be afraid of?

No.

Really helpful answer,

No to will it bring anything to the party ?

No to will it change the splash screen ? or

No to anything I need to be afraid of ?

Hmmm. Do I interpret that as No, No, Yes, No"? Or "(blank: Implied question not answered) No, Yes, No"? Or "No, don't do it you idiot!"?

Specific guidance would be useful :-)

If it makes any difference it's an L&K UK spec two years old registration "12" so has bluetooth with audio streaming and a TV but no reversing camera, and I also have the multi-function steering wheel.

It won't rebrand it.

It won't bring anything new.

And yes you should be afraid as there is a possibility of 'bricking' your Columbus for no actual gain.

If there was a worthy improvement (like gaining 7-digit postcodes on older firmware) then I'd offer my best advice.

But as there isn't, I'd say, "Leave it alone!"
