Interior light problem

I have had to turn off the interior lights on my Octavia as when the car is locked they will come on again, maybe not immediately and on and off. This has resulted in draining the battery to the point of no return although it was the original and five years old.

I've been told this could be a micro switch in the door lock but how would you know which one?

Any suggestions?
