Map Controlled Thermostat F265 Wiring Help

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My 05 Octavia Fsi 4x4 had this fault logged.

17700 - Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265): Open Circuit P1292 - 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent.

The engine light would come on sometimes but the car seemed to drive fine and temperature was as it should be.

After reseting the fault code the light would stay out but eventually comes back on with the same fault logged.

After looking on the Ross-tech site it suggests checking fuses and wiring. Fuses all tested fine, wiring not so easy to check but is ok at thermostat plug.

I then removed the mapped thermostat but this checks out ok after going through the testing procedure shown on the Skoda workshop manuals online.

Can anyone help with a wiring diagram for the F265 thermostat ? so that I can give the wiring a check. I believe there is also a relay for this.

The online manual does'nt have the current flow diagrams for this so any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers John.

Do you mean the paid-for access to ERWIN?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Not heard of ERWIN. I was looking at the Skoda section at http://workshop-manuals.com/ for removal and testing of the thermostat. No wiring info though.

Someone helped me with current flow diagrams before for a VW I had, think they were from ELSAWIN.

Cheers.

The link below explains what ERWIN is. You will first need to complete the registration process, after which you can buy access for one hour, one day or even longer. The second option is far more than long enough to download all the workshop manual information you need for your specific car, including current flow diagrams.
