Well my Octy has now been in dealers since last Monday and the dealer and Skoda still cannot find the fault. The dealer has to send reports found to Skoda and wait ages for answer. The fitter who came out with me felt/heard the fault but could not pin point what it could be, ie clutches ,sensors etc.The problem is after going up incline you hear noise from underneath then rev counter starts moving up and down making drive uncomfortable. Any one had simular problems?. They gave me the Citigo car whilst in repair.My review on that is, firm ride plus square wheels,Engine stop start do not go much on that...Fuel consumption they say 65 plus, gauge showed 3/4 filled after topping up,that went in no time, could not say how much mpg is really. Wife did not like no center armrest . Paint work, I have already said about my Octy paint work some time ago regarding scratches, this one has only done 1200 miles and it looks like its been through a hedge, there is marks on bonnet.roof, and one door. As said Skoda has been the worst car I have ever had for that

It definitely sounds like the clutch pack or mechatronics.

Thanks Phil, I do not have another Skoda dealer near me, this one is 20mile away. I did ask what they have come up to so far and it was a negative reply, they did not want to give false statements. I did think these diagnostic machine you guys have would point to a solution ,it seems not.

Any Skoda mechanics out there?. Today asked for up date on my problem and this time was asked have I changed the back wheels and tyres with another type, well I ask you what a question from Skoda  uk. Of course I have not done anything like that , surely the could have better diagnostics than to come with that question . So any tech bods think what this could be?.

At last Skoda tech have now said its the dsg problem and will require new box.Figure mentioned is £3995 all in. am selling it instead.

I doubt it actually needs a new transmission...mechatronics unit or clutch pack maybe.

 

How are you going to sell it with a broken transmission? Are you going to try trading it in?

Sounds like they don't know whats wrong and are just saying to replace the whole transmission.

I think you are right but cannot do much about it. One would think that Skoda uk would know whether it was the mechatroncs and clutch plates, I did ask the dealer whether it was those and they replied no to both , its inside the box.As said we have traded it in as part exchange for same model but for a 61 reg
