Ok, after reading various threads, I understand that the oil must be 505.01 or 506.01 standard.

Now my question is about the weights... because all the oils listed on the FAQ section are 5w-40... where-as the 506.01 (Longlife) oil stated in the manual is 0w-30. I've actually being using 506.01 0w-30 to top-up the engine the past few months.

So my question is, whats the correct oil weight?

From what I've read, you can use 505.01 or 506.01... the 506 is LongLife oil for cars on variable servicing (Octy's mostly)... but its the same engine. Since 506.01 is more expensive than 505.01 theres really no point in using it... however the oil weights I don't understand.

Additionally, since I now have NO idea what oil is actually in my engine, and I'm topping it up with 506.01 (cos the manual says thats whats in it, but it also says it can do variable servicing, which is a lie)... is it ok to mix 5w-40 & 0w-30 oils?

Anyone help me?... Lummox?
