Got a flat spot when pulling off from a standstill. Power always dips for a second like its going to stall then everything is fine. Anyone got any ideas its doing my head in. (1.4 TSI)

Could be as simple as grubby injectors. I've had similar experiences in the past. You could try a fuel additive like Wynns or Redex with you next tank and see if it helps at all.

Heard rumours redex ect bad for turbo cars? Unsure if true or not?

Same on the OH's TSI Golf 2008 1.4 122BHP. Really annoys me. Especially happens from cold. I rarely drive it. Maybe the odd weekend run.

Interested to hear what people conclude.

The 1.4 tsi gets very few mentions on here which I guess is due to them being so dam reliable lol. After almost 5 years of owning a diesel I am so glad to be back to a petrol model.

have you checked the spark plugs, and injector cleaner does no harm but it's worth trying one of the more powerful ones such as Archoil, especially if you are using supermarket fuels as the cleaner helps to get rid of carbon deposits.

Did I read somewhere that the TSI and FSI engine before it needs to be run on the high octane Optimax VPower type stuff?
