Yahoo email problems

Featured Replies

Hi all,

is anyone else having problems with there yahoo email. it maybe Yahoo messenger related.

ever since i downloaded the latest messenger my email wont open and says its trying to download a file(http address of my email)

i have posted this before but now my dads computer wont allow him into his yahoo email on his own computer. he logs in and either does what mine does or appears as squares and triangles

weird thing is i can open it on my work laptop.

no viruses on either comp, checked with norton, ad-aware, AVG, Spybot etc

anyone else having problems?

Yep, had this email problem after upgrading but I didn't think it was related to Messenger. The audio quality with voice chat on Yahoo Messenger 7 was absolute rubbish so I uninstalled and reverted to YM 6... much better. So much for an upgrade!

Apols that I really can't add anything. I think I suggested on your earlier thread that you tried to ensure you were free from viruses and spyware. My thoughts at the time of your latest (if it was you) response were that you cannot be the only one suffering this problem if it has, by process of elimination, come back to Yahoo. Thus, there must be a Yahoo forum or Google groups forum which would have info on this.

Sorry if this is pedestrian.

If you've done (or someone else did) a "Hijack this" check, or have BHO Demon installed (though I'm not sure that BHO Demon works retrospectively), then checking out Yahoo info sites seems to be the next best bet. I'm not an expert one little bit, BTW, just thinking.

thanks for the advice, i just cant seeem to find any info from anywhere on this. its driving me nuts

Hi kenny

You could have a look at this thread. There are several others which refer to cleaning out temporary internet files and cookies, and the inadvertent blocking of the requisite Yahoo cookie, which might explain why your email is possible from your laptop as you might have different settings on that. It might not explain it of course. There are loads of threads on Yahoo generally as you'd expect.

If no help, you could register and post directly into the "Communications and Messaging" forum with your question, though please be sure to give details of your system, e.g. make, hz, OS, browser (they have a sticky showing this), also updating Yahoo from which version to which.

If you use their advanced search, it seems to work better without +'s etc, i.e. just type the words. Also, you cannot read posts "threaded"; you have to open each in sequence. They are a US site so their breakfast is our lunchtime near enough.
