Locked rear right door opened while I was driving

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am having Octavia III, 1,4TSI 2013 and today I faced really strange problem. I am using automatic lock option. This option basically lock all the doors when car reach speed above 20KM/h (not sure if it is really 20).

While I was driving (on a paved road) notification come to drivers display that rear back door is opened. I get really surprised because there were no passengers on the back seats. Luckily I was able to stop immediately and check the door. And in fact the door was really opened. Not fully opened but partially (like when you close it but you don't put enough pressure and its stays partially opened/closed).

Does anyone experience the same problem ? I think it was somehow related to the paved road but I am not sure. This really compromise passengers security.

Either that door wasn't fully closed to begin with or could be something wrong with the locking mechanism. The automatic locking doesn't really play any part here - it only prevents opening the doors with the handle on the outside of the car.

They are anti-burst locks so there was unlikely to be a risk of the door coming fully open.  As PekoSI says, it was probably not quite shut and popped out over a bump.
