Advent Tacto TouchPad settings

Featured Replies

Evening,

I bought an Advent Tacto laptop with  WIndow 8.1, didnt like it so i have fomatted it and installed windows 7, however i havnt quite worked out how to solve a certain issue.

The Touchpad has some kind of type detection, so when typing it disables the touchpad, and then has a delay before it will respond.

I want to disable this feature, but cant see how. It has Elan Smart-Pad software, but that only controls multi-finger actions and sensitivity, no tick boxes to disable said feature.

Any suggestions?

Found the fix

Run->CMD->Regedit->Computer, the "CTRL F" and search for "Disablewhentype_Enable" Set this from 1 to 0.

Problem solved as the drivers did not allow for this feature to be disabled through the user GUI
