What about just filling with the premium diesel for a couple of tanks?

"Premium" fuels have worst quality than normal.

 

Why? It's simple...standard fuel is made in large quantity - whereas so called premium fuels are made in such a small, uncontrolled quality that many independent reports show poor results. Furthermore, premium fuels stay too lang in tanks of petrol stations. I wouldn't dare to use premium fuels such as V-Power. I see often large sell-out of premium fuels because they cannot sell them and they start to weather in tanks.

 

F1 uses standard fuel and adds additives - the only way to ensure high quality fuel ;-)
