5N0 035 730 D Unable to pair to phone!

Featured Replies

Got a bluetooth from a local scrappy but having issues with it.
I already had one connected but got it cheap so bought it.
its a 5N0 035 730 D - fairly new - has text/wifi etc so a bonus!

Did the swap under the drivers seat but cannot pair to my phone. The menu has "initialising phone..." for 30 seconds and then tries to connect to the old users phone. It wont let me cancel (tried clicking cancel on steering wheel) and after another 20 seconds it goes back to a different menu. The cycle will start again if I go back to the phone menu again

I have full VCDS so tried all options on there but it wont let me do anything and also tried coding it but I get an error of 31 - Out of range. VCDS recognizes the phone module and gives me all output tests to do etc and they show running so not sure what I can do.

It wont let me click anything on the maxidot at all, like i said above it searches for previous phone and wont let me cancel or click anything. its not responsive at all.

i cant search for the module on my phone too.

I think with VCDS you can delete the old pairings

i thought you could too but tried all that I could but couldnt do anything. anyone know where to look specifically?

any help?

Just tried this with BT disabled on my phone.

Ignition on and pressed the phone button, MFD says

- Initialising phone

- Searching for phone

- Hit cancel

Then I get to a screen which says no paired phone and I can choose connect.

Edit:

Also, I don't believe the 5N0035730D has wifi, only the 3C8035730D?

For the error 31, thats probably because of the zero values here: Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000.

I'd start by changing the WSC, Importer and Equipment numbers to something none-zero, probably just copy another module in your car.

This should allow you to do coding changes to it. I believe that one of the adaptions is to clear the list of paired phones?

ive changed the wsc codes and can now get it to code so thats fine.

looked through all of the adaptation lists but i cant see nothing to clear the existing paired devices

Is there something called user profiles in the adaptions? I've not done this myself but there was a post mentioning it on a VW forum.
