Have I got DRL day light running lights

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2010 Octavia elegance 1.4tsi estate.

Adjacent to the front fog lights there are additional lamps which do not appear to do anything!

I have turned on all of the lights including fog lights and these additional lamps still don't illuminate.

I have read the manual and the section on turning on drl's by switching on ignition and pulling the lifting the indicator stalk doesn't do anythin

has anybody got any bright ideas. er excuse the pun! :notme:

Yes you do.

Early facelift Octavia's had the DRL's fitted but they were deactivated.

You can activate them using VCDS or by asking your dealer to do it.

Find someone local to you here...

Once activated you can turn them on and off yourself using the procedure detailed in the manual.

Thank you very much, er what's a VCDS?

I really am new to this forum thing..... :notme:

Asked the exact same questions a while back. I got vcds and switched my DRLs on. Couple days later I switched them off again. Wonder how many folk have got vcds and switched on lots of features only to turn them off again.

I sat racking my brain trying to decide what to switch on/off next and came to the conclusion if it aint broke don't fix it. It all works fine as it is.

Oh and vcds is a cable and software diagnostics for Skodas, VW etc. Still well worth getting but ignore the tweaks it can do. You don't need them.

Just out of curiosity what made you turn off the DRL's?
