Plastic plug by the sill wanted

Featured Replies

The previous owner had the sills seams flattened by using them to support the car on a jack or railway sleeper.

One of the three plastic or ruber plugs has been pushed inside the sill and I can't fish it out. It seams the sill from rain dirt and water ingress so I want another, but I don't know where from except main dealers of a breakers perhaps?

Any ideas folks.

I had aword with a panel beater who said it would take alot of time and money to rectify the sills and the are best left alone as the car is ok otherwise.

Any other opinion?

A scissor jack can just about be used to lift the car.

Thank you.

Mine are a bit squashed too, like an 8 inch section behind front wheels. I can still get the spare wheel jack on the jacking points so doesn't do much harm apart from looking a bit odd. One day I may arm myself with some card and mole grips and unfold them if I can be bothered. I'd say a breaking car for the plugs, some been broken on here recently, try them. The plugs may be fairly universal across octavia, maybe even range of that era and vw/audi/seat too. I lost one from my Toledo once and got one off an Ibiza. It was a slightly different shape but still plugged the hole.

YC, Thanks for your comments, it is reassuring to know I am not alone with the sills.

Yeah no problem, like I say for me it's only an aesthetic issue, just as well its exactly the same on both sides or it would really do my head in. I'll save it for a nice spring day job. Mine was like that when I bought it too.
