Skoda service reminder ?

Featured Replies

Had  a service offer from Skoda Uk states Quote CAN GIVE YOURS A SERVICE FOR ONLY £139 on the cover Quote  OUR RECORDS SHOW YOUR SKODA IS DUE FOR SERVICE  and COME TO US AND GET A SERVICE FOR ONLY £ 139 on  other side FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT ROBINSONS NORWICH . Went to Robinsons and they knew nothing about it  and as my car is variable service it would not be done for that. Had a word with the manager After reading the offer he agreed it did say  YOURS , when it states a price he thought it should say FROM  I said when they say they   have checked their records they should know that my car is variable. they do a minor service for that but that is the normal price . We checked the very small print and there was nothing which said variable service was excluded. He  agreed that  what I had been sent  seems to be offering me a service for £139. I rang Skoda UK, problem was Chris was not aware of what I was sent, rang back and said no one had any knowledge of what  had been sent  so he agreed it should be handed it over to a case investigator and would get back to me.  He did ask me if I was sure it had come from Skoda ???  As a retired guy chasing this has kept me off the streets this afternoon.

Shouldn't be any real difference, your car has a dpf so must have 507 oil.

£139 is for a minor or fixed service (10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is reached first). It is no more than fresh oil, an oil filter and visual inspection.

The major or variable service is £259, which gets you the above plus an air, pollen and fuel filter - BUT "only if required".

This is where the dealer rubs their hands because these extra items are rarely required before three years old or 60,000 miles, so anyone paying £259 for a variable service is often getting ripped-off as all they are having done is the £139 oil change.

I can only assume the extra £120 goes towards the staff Christmas party?

Ask the dealer to honor their offer, perform a £139 oil change but reset the service interval to variable again (up to 20,000 miles or two years).

Is the car asking for a service? How many miles a year do you cover? Anything close to 10,000 miles or less then you would be better off being on the fixed interval rather than variable anyway...

I have had two variable services done in my near three years with the car. The first service cost £94.54 and the second one cost £108.56 the second one included the pollen filter. These costs were agreed but I did supply the oil.
