DAS-6 Pro Plus

Featured Replies

Just took advantage of the valentines 10% off at CYC and have got myself a DAS6 Pro Plus with the megs kit and pads for £170 delivered.

I have done a bit of reading but any tips for a novice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that Chris looks like a good guide with lots of info for a novice. I have found the pad chart on DW aswell which is very handy.

I just got it on its own with a 5" backing plate chucked in for £139.95 delivered.  Looking forward to adding it to my arsenal

Looking forward to your thoughts on this Jason.... i've been tempted myself on this... esp at the GB price.

Well, to be fair my normal DAS6 is easy enough to wield and does a decent job. :)  If this is better, it will be very good.

I thought you had a Flex?

I am assuming GB means group buy price? Was this on DW? I haven't seen a GB on Briskoda. £140 is a very good price delivered.

Tim at CYC offered a Group Buy price on a couple of forums as i understand it.

£140 price plus 5" backing plate thrown in with free delivery.

Hex pads added on at £6 each; no limit i was aware of.

Code is PROPLUS20; but it was a limited number until SOLD OUT.

Drop Tim an email for more details

I saw it on the "detailing addicts" facebook group and jumped in :D

Great machine, got mine about a year ago. Start with a softer pad and not to aggressive polish and read all of Chris's advise as well as othets, then fill the garage up with lots of products until you find the one you like!

As a total newbie starter to this, I've just been spending the last couple of days watching the Autogeeks how to's on youtube that Chris kindly linked to a couple of days ago for me on another thread.

As the DA6 pro plus will probably be for my birthday in a few weeks, my question is this, how do you know what pad to start with and how they fit into the feeding chain for what job to use them for?. Is it all down to experience?, or are there a few basic pads to start with if you don't possess that experience yet?.

I've very quickly twigged this is very much a personal recommendation type of occupation, but are there a few starter options you could suggest so that I could get more adventurous as I get more confidence please?.

As always, many thanks for any help in advance.

Phil.

Mine arrives later today.

My tactic is to start at the lowest and work up. Depending on car. Audi q5 on Saturday was a tough old bird and ended up working to diamond cutting compound to make any headway. :(

Thanks for that, am I correct in thinking that Hex Logic pads are the weapon of choice?, they seem to have a wide choice for different applications.

I also see from that chart that Scholl pads seem to offer a wider overlap of operations with less pad options - is this better or worse for a beginner?.

Do all the brands on that chart fit a DA6 pro plus?, do they use velcro to fix to the backing pad across all the brands?.

Many thanks for the help so far, I can see this getting infectiously expensive :giggle:

It's arrived today! I will be finishing for 2pm so by the time I get home I should get chance to do a panel to test it out.

Already got mine and 5" backing plate put straight on.  Now to get next car in to work on :D

Hi kentphil1,I have only used the hex and sonus pads both work well for me and both Velcro fix I believe the backing plate supplied will allow any pad with a diameter of 5 and 5.5 inch other size pads will require a different size plate. And yes it is infectious and addictive especially when reading other reviews to get that perfect finish!

Thanks for that, more therapy for willpower weakness is on the cards I think after getting this lot. :D
